How can I get where you are?

Hi everyone! So, recently, I've been dying to travel literally anywhere. ANYWHERE. I've been researching places I need to visit.... here's a short list!

Valparaiso, Chile

I have always had a thing for colorful places, where every house is a different color! There also is TONS of street art!

Haiphong, Vietnam

Never having been to Asia, I would love my first experience to be a place like this! I love the idea of a serene place to explore!

Assisi, Italy

I had the privilege of visiting Assisi on my last trip to Italy! It is one of my favorite places in the world, and I can't wait to go back!

Son DoĆ²ng Cave, Vietnam

Who wouldn't want to visit what is basically A HUGE UNDERGROUND WORLD?!  You get to tour through the cave, and stay overnight in tents in the center! Can't get much cooler!

Where do you want to travel to?

Summertime is Falling Down and Winter is Closing in

Summer is officially over, and I'm falling back into the usual rhythm of school and such. Classes are fun! I'm taking History of Rock and Roll and it is AMAZING!! We get to write some poetry soon in English, which is super duper exciting!
I had a few photos from the end of the summer that I captured! Hope you like them!

I'm Baaaaaacccckkkk....

I know that this has been my first blog entry in a few months, but I figured it would be pretty fun to get started again, as the year is restarting. I hope everyone had an AMAZING summer! Cool news: I'm in HIGH SCHOOL NOW, So this blog is no longer an affiliate of the OMS Press!! Ah, the sweet freedom to blog about whatever suits my fancy!
I spent my summer traveling to foreign countries, writing poetry (I'll post some later!!), listening to the Head and the Heart, and starting many incomplete projects. By the end of this summer I was supposed to become an activist for girls education, write a novel, and do the ice bucket challenge about 5 times. None of it exactly worked out..... but it was certainly a noble effort! What did you all do this summer?

A few of my favorite pictures from the summer!

The madness of freedom!

Ukey came with me to Europe!!

An ice cream cone denying me my basic ice cream rights

The canals of Venice

Literally the only souvenir I needed from my trip! This looked the best thing ever!

I got back from Europe just in time to go to the Sweet Chariot Folk Festival on Swans Island!

Maine is only this beautiful before a storm

Hope you guys had an amazing summer!

Jesse :)

DIY Sharpie Shoes Tutorial

Sharpie shoes are fun, easy, and anyone can do them! All you need is a little creative intuition and some awesome sharpies, and you can make a wearable piece of art that everyone will love!

Materials:

1 set of white shoes (any type is usually fine. I've also used Vans.)

Sharpies (for this tutorial I used blues and grays, but depending on what design you want to do you may want different colors)

Steps:

Step 1: Draw on your outline with pencil. It's hard to see on my shoe due to the lighting, but it's there. This is essential, as you want to be sure you're able to finalize your design before you make anything permanent.*

Step 2: Begin to shade your design. I've learned from past experience that it is important to pay attention to what color you are supposed to be using: I have accidentally used blue when I was supposed to use green, brown when I was supposed to use purple, etc.

Step 3: Continue to shade. This will take some time.

Step 4: Repeat steps 1-3 on the next shoe.

Once you finish the second shoe you are done! You can wear your shoes anywhere for formal or casual occasions!

Tips:

- So you mess up your design. Now what? Take 1 toothbrush and spritz it with some hairspray. Brush the sprayed toothbrush on the problem area and wipe it off with some paper towels. Wait for it to dry before you draw on it again.

- To make precise lines around the edges, use a piece of tape to cover the are you don't want to get the Sharpie on.

There you have it! All you need it to make your own pieces of wearable art!
